Kulgam is a picturesque district located in the southern part of Kashmir Valley. The district is situated along the banks of river Veshow and at the foot of the Pir Panjal mountain range to the south, offering stunning views of snow-capped peaks. Known for its scenic beauty, the region is surrounded by lush green landscapes, Waterfalls like Aharbal, rivers and streams. The district is rich in cultural heritage and history and is also famous for its agricultural activities, particularly apple and rice cultivation. Mir Syed Hussain Simnania (RA) a revered saint had invited Hazrat Amir Kabir Mir Syed Ali Hamdani (RA) to Kashmir and mystical poetess Lal Ded to Kulgam where their disciples like Sheikh Noor-ud-din Noorani (RA), manifested the composite culture.
