MAHILA SHAKTI KENDRA (District Hub for Empowerment of Women)

Mahila Shakti Kendra is meant to provide “one stop convergent support services for empowering rural women with opportunities for skill development, employment, digital literacy, health and nutrition”. The Scheme will provide an interface for rural women to approach the government for availing their entitlements and for empowering them through awareness generation, training and capacity building. MSK act as a link between local Administration, State Government and Ministry of Women and child Development for implementing Women Centric Schemes and programmes of the Government.

Objective:

  1. District Hub for Empowerment of Women under MSK is envisaged to work at various levels. While, National level (domain based knowledge support) and State level (State Resource Centre for Women) structures will provide technical support to the respective governments on issues related to women.
  2. District Hub for Empowerment of Women under MSK also gives a foothold to women empowerment schemes including BBBP.
  3. MSK team will play an instrumental role in awareness generation regarding various Government schemes/ programmes as well as social issues that have an impact on lives of women in District.

 Strategy:

Women empowerment is multi-dimensional and the services provided under MSK will build upon by leveraging available resources of variety of schemes/programmes of the government at the district/block level. MSK will provide an interface for rural women to approach the government for availing their entitlements.

Mission:

District Hub for Empowerment of Women under MSK empower women at all levels to develop their natural abilities to their fullest potential and equip them to excel as leaders of their workplaces and communities across all spheres of society.

Our vision is the evolution of a human society:

  1. There is equality of opportunity for women and men in access to education, health care, work advancement and representation in political and economic decision-making.
  2. All forms of discrimination against women and girls should be ended.
  3. The contributions of women as well as men are recognized and respected.

To inspire and motivate women to:

  1. Transcend the limits of traditional boundaries imposed on them and explore goals that stretch them to new possibilities.
  2. Expand their capability to their highest level of personal and professional excellence in whatever life or work roles they choose.
  3. To motive the women to face the challenges.
  4. To make them confidant about their capabilities and to create paths of self determination.
