KVIB
J&K Khadi & Village Industries Board is a statutory under Act No. XVI of 1965 called as “J&K Khadi & Village Industries Board Act 1965” with the aim to encourage, organize, develop and regulate Khadi & Village Industries in the J&K.
Objectives
a). Social objective of creation of employment opportunities.
b). Empowering rural artisans by producing customer-savvy products.
c). To foster a strong rural community spirit by establishing a sustainable and dynamic village and traditional industries sector.
d). To improve design and productivity of Khadi & Village Industries sector.
e). To provide marketing support to the Khadi & Village Industrial artisans and workers.
f). To promote environment friendly and sustainable development of village/micro industrial sector.
g). To make use of locally available raw material and skills.
Schemes being implemented by J&K KVIB & performance thereof:-
- Prime Minister Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP)
- Scheme of funds for regeneration OF Traditional Industries (SFURTI).
- National Scheduled Caste- Scheduled Tribe Hub (NSSH) Scheme.
- J&K Rural Employment Generation Programme (JKREGP)

Eligibility conditions of beneficiary’s under JKREGP:
- Any individual between 18 to 40 years of age residing in the village /rural area of the State. Any area where population is less than 20000 persons and which is a village/rural area as per revenue records shall be considered a village/rural area for implementation of the scheme.
- Educational qualification for beneficiaries and quantum of Financial Assistance.

Modalities of the operation of the scheme under JKREGP:

Eligibility conditions of beneficiary’s under PMEGP:
- Any individual, above 18 years of age.
- There will be no income ceiling for assistance for setting up projects under PMEGP.
- For setting up of project costing above Rs. 10.00 lacs in the manufacturing sector and above Rs. 5.00 lacs in the service sector. The beneficiaries should possess at least 8th standard pass educational qualification.
- Assistant under scheme is available only for new projects
- Self help groups (including those belonging to BPL provided that they have not availed benefits under any other scheme) are also eligible for assistance.
